Born from the success of The Big Retreat Festival, known for its focus on wellbeing, connection, and adventure for all ages, we realised there was a growing need for a family-focused experience tailored specifically to younger children and their parents.
Over the years, The Big Retreat Festival has welcomed families looking for a mix of personal growth, outdoor adventure, and relaxation. But as parents joined us, they told us they wanted a space dedicated to the youngest explorers—a place where children could take center stage.
We heard one resounding question:
“Can there be more for the kids?”
In response, we created The Big Family Retreat: a smaller magical weekend designed for families with children aged 3–12.
While The Big Retreat Festival will remain open to everyone,

It’s a retreat where the youngest adventurers can thrive, explore, and play, all while sharing meaningful experiences with their parents. Unlike The Big Retreat Festival, where older children and adults can branch off into personal pursuits, The Big Family Retreat is all about shared discovery and connection—bringing families closer together in the process.
Both events share the same heart: a dedication to wellbeing, discovery, and authenticity, set in the breathtaking Welsh countryside.
Yet, they fulfill different needs. The Big Retreat Festival provides space for personal development and growth across generations, while The Big Family Retreat focuses on creating a sanctuary for families with younger children—a time to pause, bond, and create magical memories together.
